Piece description from the artist
This long exposure photograph captures the historic Hodgson Water Mill in Dora, Missouri, USA, surrounded by the brilliant colors of the fall season. The crystal-clear spring flows steadily from a pond, spilling into a picturesque waterfall before flowing into a creek. A tree-covered limestone bluff creates a backdrop for this beautiful vintage mill. Nestled in the rugged heart of the Missouri Ozarks, this site is rich with history. The original mill was established in 1837, followed by a second mill built in 1861 that was lost during the turmoil of the Civil War. The enduring structure seen today was completed in 1882, and it remains one of Missouri’s most iconic and most photographed grist mills.
