Piece description from the artist
A beautiful old barn, known as the Blasdel Barn, stands in the golden wild grasses of rural Montana on a Fall day. This was once a dairy barn, and is one of the largest old barns in the state. This old beauty has three floors of space, and is on the national registry of historic places. Luckily, it will be preserved through funding for many years. It is truly a phenomenal piece of folk art, hand built by local craftsman and farmers. The fact that it is still standing and is in good structural condition speaks to the skill the builders had even back in the long ago days.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
