Tony Arruza is a self-taught photographer who began his career by jumping in the ocean with an amphibious camera, taking photographs of friends surfing. This experience grew into a career that has taken Tony on adventures that satisfy his passion for photography.
Over the course of four decades, Tony has grown in technical proficiency and artistic interpretation. He has been widely published in the United States and internationally. His work has graced the cover of countless magazines and books, and he has been sent on assignments to cover a wide range of subjects all over the world. Tony has also produced major ad campaigns and has been the recipient of numerous awards. His love for photography still grows as he is continuously challenged and rewarded by the medium.
Tony’s recent projects include working with fifteen of the top surfboard shapers in the world to create stunning, hand-shaped surfboards that feature original photographs. Each piece is unique and one of a kind.
