I saw a ninja waiting for the train on Halloween in Chicago Illinois….I couldn't help but think…Ninjas take trains? …. because for one second in that moment, I gave in to suspension of disbelief and that really was a ninja waiting for a train.
Matthew Gauger was born in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Growing up, Mathew spent his time between living in the city and the suburbs, which gave him a unique double-sided perspective to both ways of life, from the rough and gritty sides of urban living, to the clean and orderly ways of suburban living. It gave him perspective on the big picture of life, that no one life is different from any other, just the way we decorate them. His work strives to capture moments in time which are true to our time, and are in turn, timeless.
