Herons rest

Herons Rest

Piece description from the artist

I went out this evening specifically to photograph a great blue Heron. I knew herons frequented this wetland as I have seen him here before. I waited a couple hours before the sun started to set, with no heron in site I decided it was time to go – but wait! just then to my surprise! he landed in the tree to perch for the night. I was so happy to capture this silhouette which has been added as one of my favorite images.

About Daniel Olsen

Cornwall , NY

Born and raised in New York City, my passion for art developed early in youth; being exposed to a variety of canvases in NYC, from street graffiti to various genres of music. Experimenting for most of my youth, it was not until later in life that I had truly dedicated interest in refining specific areas of art, more so in music and photography.
Marrying young and being a father of four boys keeps me balanced between the lines of life. Creating puts me on the edge, especially with music. As an artist I am continually exposing myself, which can be exciting, rewarding, and sometimes nerve-racking.
