Hermes. The God of Trade and Fortune

Piece description from the artist

Hermes is an ancient Greek god of trade, fortune, youth and eloquence. The patron saint of heralds, ambassadors, shepherds, travelers. Also known as Mercury in Roman religion and mythology. For Romans he was the god of financial gain, commerce, eloquence, messages, communication, travelers, boundaries, luck, trickery, and thieves; he also serves as the guide of souls to the underworld. The concept of the painting is an attempt to unite ancient sculpture and contemporary painting. Oil, canvas, varnished. Signed.
