Framing the quiet social structure of a red deer herd, this wildlife photograph centres on a magnificent stag bedded down in dry autumn grass. Sunlight casts rich golden tones across the scene, contrasting the sharp detail of the foreground stag against the soft, blurred forms of the resting herd behind him.
From the smallest details of macro to the vast panorama of a landscape, with a quick stop off at many subjects in between, Rick's passion for detail and capturing the moment has inspired him to shoot many different genres. He enjoys traveling to different parts of the world and will take his camera, even on work trips. More recently, he has been practicing creating artistic renditions of his photograph.
