Piece description from the artist
A red-tinged jellyfish has washed up along the shoreline in this scene from Gulf Shores, Alabama. Resting on the wet sand near the water’s edge, it blends subtly with the shoreline, making it easy to overlook and a reminder to keep a safe distance. These creatures can deliver a powerful sting, even after they’ve washed ashore.
In the background, gentle waves from the Gulf of Mexico roll in under warm evening light, giving the pale sand a soft golden glow. Captured near the Gulf State Park Pier, the moment highlights both the beauty and the quiet caution of the coastline. It’s also a reminder to respect the shoreline, avoid disturbing or burying marine life, as the ocean belongs to them and we are simply visitors in their habitat.
