A bold row of green trees winds its way through the rugged desert of Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument, nestled among cream-toned sandstone hills and mountains. Captured from Scenic Byway 12 near Boulder, Utah, the scene showcases the otherworldly beauty of mountains, mounds, and valleys sculpted over centuries, with rolling slickrock slopes that guide the eye through the landscape. The curving line of trees marks the path of a hidden creek, while scattered junipers and hardy desert shrubs add texture and hints of green, a testament to life thriving in the high desert.
