Piece description from the artist
Have you ever been reminded of a place you've never been, or that you can't quite recall? Maybe it's a memory, maybe it's a dream, maybe it's something leftover from a past life. Painting this type of abstract landscape lets my mind create the space, without having to plan it. I hope you look at this painting and feel something familiar.
Sara Graves is a print and pattern designer living near Chicago, IL. She pulls inspiration from the world of literature, nature, childhood memories of time spent among the forests of her home in Wisconsin, wildflowers, and the vast shores of Lake Michigan. Sara’s work is guided by the need to share the tiny, beautiful things that might be overlooked in a world saturated with information and activity. Sara graduated from Columbia College in Chicago with a BA in Journalism, and whether writing, painting, or drawing, her goal is to tell the story of the people, places, & things she loves most.
