Piece description from the artist
This black and white photograph features the Glen Canyon Dam in Page, Arizona, a monumental concrete arch-gravity dam rising 710 feet above the Colorado River. Captured in evening light, the sun illuminates one side of the canyon walls, while the opposite side rests in dramatic shadow. The dam creates Lake Powell, one of the largest man-made reservoirs in the United States, with a capacity exceeding 25 million acre-feet. This view showcases the Colorado River side of the dam, located within the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, a popular destination in the American Southwest, United States. A striking blend of engineering and natural beauty, this photo is ideal for collectors of fine art desert and landscape photography.
