Piece description from the artist
Painted on location at Ghost Ranch, Georgia O'Keeffe's beloved home, this is my own interpretation of the extraordinary red hills.
Working with pastel, oil, acrylic, and Japanese kimonos, Ginny Abblett has studied and made art in the United States, Europe and Asia, with studio and Plein Air painting earning equal billing. Ginny lives both in Denver and Taos, and her artwork has won numerous awards. She presently is represented by Garden and Soul in Taos, New Mexico, the Denver Art Museum Gift shop, and Ginny Abblett Fine Art on Santa Fe Drive in Denver, Colorado.
Ginny Abblett's confident hand and vibrant palette result in paintings which are popular with private collectors, decorators, and commercial buyers in the United States, Europe, and Asia. From cherry blossoms in Japan to Paris parks and English gardens, her international influences and subjects speak to a sophisticated audience, yet the appeal and accessibility of her works is universal.
