Piece description from the artist
This minimalism photography piece offers a detailed close-up of a modern New York skyscraper facade, specifically located in the Hudson Yards real estate development in Midtown Manhattan. It is a striking study in urban geometry and recurring pattern, separating the building into two distinct, hypnotic textual fields against a vast field of pure teal sky. The upper section features a clean, consistent grid of uniform glass panels, reflecting a different aspect of the city. Below, this transitions dramatically into an incredibly dense and intricate high-frequency moiré pattern, created by thousands of closely packed vertical glass louvers or struts, revealing stunning, complex details and different buildings textures. This powerful and innovative facade is characteristic of the contemporary architecture found in the Hudson Yards district. The clean lines and juxtaposition of the two distinct textures create a perfect example of a minimal yet complex architectural statement.
