Piece description from the artist
A peaceful springtime wildlife moment in Badlands National Park near Wall, South Dakota, as a mother bighorn sheep rests in the shade while her young lamb stands protectively behind her. I captured this heartwarming photograph at Pinnacles Overlook, as it showcases the close bond between a ewe and her offspring in one of the most scenic areas of the park.
Bighorn sheep are among the most iconic animals found in the Badlands, and spring is an excellent time to observe families with newly born lambs. During this quiet encounter, the ram remained nearby while the mother and lamb relaxed together, offering a glimpse into the natural behavior of these remarkable animals against the rugged backdrop of South Dakota's Badlands landscape.
