An abstract painting series inspired by the patterns and processes in space. Taking inspiration from radial orbits, sister galaxies, nebulas, moons, and other elements of physics to create abstract geometric compositions. Juxtaposing the natural and organic themes and textures with the mathematical and symmetrical systems and compositions.
Martyna Alexander is an artist based in Detroit. Originally, a designer working in corporate settings for over 10 years, she found her way to art through burn-out and a rejection of the rule-obsessed profession, while inherently using her design tools to create new non-practical works. Often comparing the strange harmony of the strict and systematic to the expressive, organic, and spontaneous – oppositions that mirror the many tensions of her interests and modern life.
