The snow-dusted peaks of the Absaroka Range rise in a majestic, rugged V-shaped formation, framing a deep valley cloaked in the cool, blue shadows of twilight. High above the stark contrast of the dark, timbered ridges and brilliant white slopes, a soft, ethereal band of pink and amber clouds catches the final rays of a winter sunset. The clean, crisp mountain air and expansive view evoke a powerful sense of alpine solitude and quiet grandeur, capturing the raw, untouched spirit of the Montana wilderness. I feel truly alive in these mountains, watching the colors change as the sun goes down, capturing their brilliance for a few moments.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
