Piece description from the artist
Cottonwood trees are one of the most impressive and expressive tree throughout the West. The bark on these trees is deeply fissured and textured. They are huge in size and fast growing. In death, they become gnarled, and creepy looking. I love the texture on this tree and the stark whiteness of the trunk where has lost its bark. The moodiness of the sky, and cloudy day just adds to the feeling of fright!

At the age of 16, Barbara found her creative passion looking through the lens of a Canon camera. She has be a photographer from that point on, finding subject matter from the gritty streets of Manhattan, to the alpine environment of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. She feels most at home now, among big horned sheep, moose and mountains of Colorado!
