Fractured landscape

Fractured Landscape

Piece description from the artist

I was happily riding my bike in a parking lot. I was startled by a car. Fell off my bike and as my head, nestled in my helmet, was bouncing on the asphalt, I saw this. I was very confused by what I was seeing; I mean, how did a woodsy place become part of this parking lot? I discovered five large windows, leaning against a shed, smashed, yet offering this reflection. The angle of view was particular—ground view only.

This is story telling, a body of images more interested in stirring emotions than creating documents. To achieve this, light, color, grace, style and beauty combine within carefully chosen frames.
Most all of the photographs were taken where or close to where the artist was living at the time. Their subjects are everyday things at everyday places with doses of not so everyday weather. The exception to this, is work made in response to a call for work. Often that work is constructed by the artist.

The artist lives in Old Saybrook, CT. She holds an MFA photography from Columbia College Chicago with additional studies in Fine Arts and Fiber Arts/Bookmaking.
