Piece description from the artist

Every year I go through a landscape painting phase. it starts in February, just as the days begin to get noticeable longer and it runs through April, when the weather gets reliably non-freezing. This year I'm using my landscape painting phase partly as magic to ward off late snowstorms, but also as a way to explore acrylic media and how to push the medium past its normal use. The landscape subjects and themes constrain each work. By forcing each piece to depict something recognizable, I get something akin to an experimental baseline or control that helps prize out the properties and limitations of the variety of acrylic media and formulations. Life's an experiment. Have some pretty flowers.
