Piece description from the artist
In Forest Veil, shifting bands of color suggest glimpses of the woodland beyond, as if seen through softened light and memory. The work becomes a quiet threshold — part forest, part reverie — inviting the viewer to linger in the spaces between presence and imagination.
A native of Washington, D.C. and third-generation artist, Clare's training includes a degree in Fine Art and years of printmaking study at the Corcoran College of Art. Clare’s work has been included in group and solo shows in the in the US and overseas.
Clare's current body of work is united by the theme of ecology and relationships. Through semi abstract nature-based paintings and prints, her work explores the way hope and a sense of connection can be found even during anxious or uncertain times.
According to the artist, "Each project is a challenge for me — finding the delicate balance between process and feeling.”
