Flowing Waters At Ritter Springs

I captured this beautiful autumn scene at Ritter Springs Park in Springfield, Missouri, featuring the iron bridge and a pair of small waterfalls cascading over a dam along Spring Branch. Warm golden tones and colorful fall foliage surround the creek, creating a lovely seasonal setting in the heart of the Ozarks. The water originates from Ritter Spring, a natural spring that feeds Spring Branch before it flows into the Little Sac River, which can also be seen along portions of the park's hiking trails.

This 245-acre park, located in a peaceful rural setting just northwest of Springfield, has an interesting history. The area was once home to the historic Ritter Mill, which operated from the 1880s until 1903. Today, visitors can enjoy its wooded trails, natural springs, flowing water, and scenic views. I love how the historic iron bridge, cascading water, and golden autumn colors come together to showcase the natural beauty and history.
