A very abstracted view of a pair of ducks floating calmly across Ellesmere Lake in Shropshire but almost lost in the dramatic green reflections of the trees and foliage on the banks of the lake. I thought this gave the viewer time to question just what they were seeing – why is the water so green and then the ducks perhaps come into the scene in their minds.
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
