Imagine a handsome cowboy gazing across the hall, he can't take his eyes off the lovely lady, who has caught his fancy. Nervously, he walks across the floor, and he holds out his hand. She accepts, and in the rush of the music and he twirls her into his arms… they embrace. This painting is inspired by Debra's lifelong love of dancing.
Debra Wadlington paints in a style that reflects the realism of the cultures of the American West and Southwest. Debra’s life-long passion resonates throughout her art with every stroke of color, skillfully capturing the indelible spirit of the land, the people, and traditions.
Native to New Mexico, where she attended school and began her career in art, Debra’s academic achievements include degrees in Bachelor of Science in Art, Bachelor of Art in Secondary Education Certification, and a Masters in Elementary Education. She has taught at various grade levels in primary and secondary schools, in addition to college as an adjunct Professor of Art. Debra resides in Texas, where she continues to paint her passion.
