Fingers Crossed

Piece description from the artist

'Fingers Crossed' is a non-conceptual piece created in studio. I particularly like this format and the challenge of a large abstract composition on a smaller canvas, or in this case cradled panel.
I titled this painting upon completion, and to me it suggests the enduring hope we all share.

About Rosalie Cuticchia

Newburyport, MA

Although I was always a creative, it wasn’t until I studied oil painting that I understood that art was one of my intended paths. My work with the late Enrico Donati laid a classical foundation that served me well through my evolution from a traditional painter to my current abstract style.
Today my paintings are process driven and develop organically in-studio. They celebrate color, form, line and shape, and share dynamic, surreal, lyrical qualities. My goal is to step away from intention and create intuitive, reflective yet dynamic work. I continue to honor the miles of traditional landscapes and seascapes that got me here, and I often wonder what Enrico would think of my work today.
As a juried member and Board member of the National Association of Women Artists, I currently exhibit extensively in solo, juried, and group shows throughout New England. I am also a wearable art designer with a line of textile designs.

‘I believe that my work is a reflection of my personal truths,
even though I may fail to see or understand it myself.
My pieces say different things to different viewers,
which is really the fun of it. ‘
