Piece description from the artist

This painting captures life on the streets of Brooklyn, New York. Before Brooklyn became the epicenter of hip, it was a working class borough of New York City, famous for its ethnic diversity and known as the bedroom of Manhattan. Part of the 'Street Dance' series, this painting shows a casual encounter at a corner Bodega, New York's answer to a mini-mart. This piece is painted with a broader expressionistic approach which was a departure for the 'Street Dance' series but a precursor to the paintings of the 'Havana' and 'Sacré Bleu' paintings.
