Fiddle Leaf No. 2 is a contemporary botanical painting that explores the distinctive leaves of the fiddle leaf fig through bold color, simplified form, and expressive mark-making. Fresh green foliage rises against an intensely textured red background, accented by deep blue-green shadows and loose ivory outlines that emphasize the plant’s organic structure.
Rather than rendering the plant traditionally, the painting celebrates the irregular shapes, overlaps, and movement of its leaves. Visible brushwork and layered texture create depth at close range, while the saturated red-and-green palette gives the work a graphic impact from a distance.
Created as a companion to Fiddle Leaf No. 1, this piece can stand alone or work as part of a botanical pairing. Its combination of organic imagery, strong color, and contemporary styling makes it especially suited to modern residential, hospitality, workplace, and commercial spaces.
Kelsey Conner is a Louisiana-based visual artist and muralist whose work explores nature, human experience, color, and story. Raised in Southeast Louisiana, her surroundings and connection to the region continue to influence the subjects, atmosphere, and sense of place within her work.
Working primarily through painting, and large-scale environmental artwork, Kelsey combines recognizable imagery with expressive mark-making, unexpected color, and tactile surfaces. Her subjects range from botanicals and landscapes to figurative work and moments drawn from everyday life. Rather than simply reproducing what she sees, she is interested in finding the personality, memory, humor, and emotion contained within a subject.
At the center of her practice is a desire to create artwork that rewards curiosity. Bold shapes and compositions often establish the work from a distance, while layers of texture, irregular lines, brushwork, and small details invite a second look.
Kelsey studied Fine Arts at the University of New Orleans and earned an Associate degree in Visual Communications from Delgado Community College. She has created original artwork and large-scale murals for residential, commercial, hospitality, and community spaces throughout the Greater New Orleans region.
