Location: Anglin's Fishing Pier – Fort Lauderdale, Florida – 2017
When I arrived, I noticed roughly 30 photographers shooting from the north side of the pier – so I decided to go to the south side and catch the sunrise with Anglin's Fishing Pier in front of it. I saw only two other photographers on the south side of the pier. So with the camera ready in hand, I got as close as possible to the waves without getting wet and laid down on the ground for the photo. While composing, a lady walked in front of the sun and created a silhouette. So once I felt right about the background and foreground, I secured several photos.
To convey what I felt on this warm and windy morning, I slightly elevated this image's vibrance and saturation. I also darkened the silhouetted pier and its people to create more contrast.
Fervid: "Showing an intense feeling," fervid suggests warmly, spontaneously, and often feverishly expressed emotion.
