Piece description from the artist
This is an old favourite of mine. With this painting I won a price at an International art contest back in 1981. This painting is about a woman and about female intuition in general. In this painting she feels her family is threatened. She sacrifices herself to find out what's wrong. She can feel the crack in her world.
Paul Reisser was born in Fagersta, Sweden, in 1957 and had his first big art show at the age of fifteen. Self-taught, Paul was inspired by the recognizable styles of "Magritte":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ren%C3%A9_Magritte and "Dali":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvador_Dal%C3%AD, and later "Warhol":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Warhol.
All of Paul's work is made by hand, using traditional brushes and oil on canvas. His work has been exhibited in galleries in Austria, Switzerland and Sweden; he has been awarded gold and silver in International art competitions; and many of his pop art paintings have been bestsellers as postcards and posters in Sweden.
