Extended Street View

Piece description from the artist

Photo taken in Los Angeles, CA, with portions removed with water. Ink washes were then added onto the print and drawn over with a archival pigment liner pen.

From early on in my art-making, I have been interested in altering photographs. I believe images have a profound ability to communicate things we barely grasp – so much of us that is untapped. I let the world guide me to what is said. To me it speaks in poems, and the process of seeing them is beautiful.

About Brandon Jacob Hudson

Dallas, TX

Brandon was raised in rural Northeast Texas where his closest exposure to art was the graffiti on the trains passing by behind his house. He took a scholarship to go to TCU in Fort Worth, TX, where he chose to pursue a BFA in Studio Art after a semester abroad in London. He then received a fellowship to get his MFA in Photography at Savannah College of Art and Design. His thesis show was titled, "Arranging for the Fore, Separating Four and 4", and used photography to explore the way cultures create symbols in search of truth in the world, using different aspects of it to help guide our existence. After SCAD Brandon lived in New York for several years as an artist assistant and photography instructor. He now resides in Los Angeles and continues exploring new techniques in photography and drawing and taking part in various exhibitions.
