Piece description from the artist
Photographs in my streetlamp series were taken primarily in New York City, often during early morning or late afternoon when the light highly contrasts with deep saturated colors in shadow. I like to add my own personal touches because that’s part of turning a snapshot into a vision. What I think distinguishes this series is the challenge of capturing the angles, curves and geometry of the city with street lamps as a focal point. This approach brings out some of the mystery and magic the city offers for me as I hope it does for my viewers. And perhaps most important about this series is that fact that the street lamps are always on, day or night, lighting the way.
