This painting celebrates the grand forests of the American west! A low autumn sun floods the ancient redwood forest with brilliant white light. Most of the trees are giant sequoias. The yellow-orange leaves of a big-leaf maple tree fill the foreground on the left. The color palette is bright, warm and happy. A different color dominates each area of the canvas, from orange to green, white, and blue.
