Another "Lewie&Clark" image that I created and just love. My "Early Birds" concept was about capturing the OCD thing that goes on in a Lab's head when a ball is in sight – no matter the time of day (in this case, an early morning camping trip). The image is all about the Airstream. I searched long and hard to find the right one and tracked down this one that belonged to a great guy named Rob in upstate New York. Rob was terrific and helped me all afternoon (and into early evening), positioning his classic RV all around his beautiful farm. After capturing the image, I shot Lewie and Clark looking down at what would eventually be a tennis ball. It's all about the details so I added the window in the front of the RV to create some separation and even crafted a vintage Loose Leashes window sticker. The last touch was creating a license plate to match the spirit of the picture… ADV-NTR!

Ron Schmidt's love of photography started at age 9 with an old camera that his Uncle Russ gave him for Christmas. That day, a passion was born. He snapped his first dog photo of his collie Nicki and he hasn’t stopped taking pictures since. Ron's whimsical images have captured the hearts of dog lovers worldwide since 2003.
