Piece description from the artist
When I paint a low country landscape, there are only a few things I know for sure. The canvas size, where the horizon line is and colors I want to see in it. The rest is a journey. The water starts telling me where it's going. My goal is to capture the emotion of the painting. I don't just want to see what's in the painting but to feel what's in it!
Victoria Jackson is an Atlanta-based artist who is best known for landscapes, horizons and abstract pieces. She primarily works with acrylic and oil on canvas. Her parents opened the Ann Jackson Gallery in North Atlanta in 1971, where she was exposed to artwork and the painting process at a young age.
Victoria expresses her belief that through adversity comes tranquility in her paintings. A turbulent sky crossing over a vast landscape always has a glimpse of a brighter day coming.
