A deep green field anchors the lower half of the canvas, textured and shadowed as though holding the quiet weight of forests or oceans. Above it, a glowing swath of ochre burns like a strip of late sunlight across the horizon, an echo of autumn or the desert’s breath. The upper space dissolves into layers of pale taupe, cream, and fractured white, as if clouds were broken into shards and scattered across a wind-brushed sky.
Lines—both rigid and free—cross the work like roads, horizons, or the delicate tracery of thought. Black strokes leap and curl, defying containment, while geometric fragments in amber and gold punctuate the scene, suggesting symbols, maps, or constellations waiting to be deciphered. In the lower expanse, splashes of yellow and hints of deep blue shimmer like fleeting reflections on water.
The painting feels at once architectural and organic, a meeting place between the precision of design and the spontaneity of nature. It speaks in a language of rhythm and balance, inviting the viewer to navigate its planes and gestures as one might explore a shifting, dream-lit terrain—where no single horizon remains fixed, and every form holds the possibility of transformation.
After having explored European landscapes and the feamle beauty, he experienced some abstract paintings. He rapidly found the pleasure of unlimited creative power. He has really become aware that he has started a never ending journey through imagination. People are now eager to see his new visions ! My name is Pol Ledent. Thank you for visiting my portfolio. Pol Ledent was born in 1952 in Belgium. He came to painting in 1989. He started with watercolor but felt rapidly that oil painting would match his way of being. He is a self-taught painter . Nevertheless he took some drawing lessons in a Belgian academy. After taking part into numerous group exhibitions , some galleries in Belgium proposed to him to exhibit his works. Dinant, Bouillon, Brussels , Paris and Moscow in October 2006. He has already sent many paintings to various countries USA ( New-York Buffalo Broadway ) , Santa Cruz,San Diego, San Jose,Los Angeles, Florida,Miami Baton-Rouge),Seattle, grand blanc (MI), to France, to China, to Scotland, to Portugual, to Switzerland, to Australia and ………. After having explored European landscapes and the female beauty, he experienced some abstract paintings. He rapidly found the pleasure of unlimited creative power. As a young man , he went to the University of Louvain (Belgium) where he studied Philosophy and literature !
At the age of forty he took some drawing lessons at the technical school of Dinant( Belgium) for three years
He took part in exhibitions in Paris, Brussels (2 times) , Bouillon and Dinant ( 5 times) !
