Piece description from the artist
When I am created a cityscape, I do not intentionally paint a particular place. All I know is the design and the size of the canvas. Its a journey that I take to play with colors and shapes. When I was a little, I loved the Highlight magazines. In every issue they would have games to play. One in particular was finding objects in a scene. Like my City Scapes or other abstracts, I love that there is lots to find.
Victoria Jackson is an Atlanta-based artist who is best known for landscapes, horizons and abstract pieces. She primarily works with acrylic and oil on canvas. Her parents opened the Ann Jackson Gallery in North Atlanta in 1971, where she was exposed to artwork and the painting process at a young age.
Victoria expresses her belief that through adversity comes tranquility in her paintings. A turbulent sky crossing over a vast landscape always has a glimpse of a brighter day coming.
