Piece description from the artist
Abstract art by Tasha C. Miller
Tasha C. Miller is a self-taught, self-represented artist, living and working in Brooklyn, New York. Miller was born in Brooklyn and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She began creating visual and literary art as a child, and her art work lined the walls of every school she attended from elementary school to high school, where she was voted "Class Artist." She returned to Brooklyn to attend Pratt Institute, where she studied architecture and participated in numerous student exhibitions.
Tasha's paintings explore the boundaries of figuration and abstraction, often featuring vivid, saturated colors and expressive mark-marking.
Miller holds a B.A. in literature and creative writing from Harvard University. Her study of the non-objective abstract painting technique includes workshops with Cambridge-based abstract artist "Sheila Rice":http://www.wickedlocal.com/cambridge/news/x1388113415/Meet-the-artist-Cambridges-Sheila-Rice#axzz2H1RinKZ6. Miller’s work can be found in many private collections and offices in New York, Massachusetts, Texas, Vermont, Maine, California, Ohio, and France.
