these paintings were created the first year I was able to walk into my studio everyday!
What an enormous difference did that make – my colors became more complicated as did the geometric surface.
Puzzles that don't ever add up but hopefully keep the viewer engaged. Paintings should be like good meals – a combination of a lot of different but wonderful things beautifully put together and served to the viewer.

About Sally Bowring

Richmond, VA
Bowring retired as the Director of Administration/ Assistant Professor in the Painting and Printmaking department at Virginia Commonwealth University. She now teaches adjunct Drawing and Painting at University of Richmond. She has been a recipient of the Virginia Museum of Fine Art Professional Fellowships and the Theresa Pollak Visual Arts Awards 2003-2004, granted 6 Fellowships to the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Bowring was elected to the Fellows Council of the Virginia Center for Creative Arts and 3 years as vice chair. Bowring is represented by Reynolds Gallery, in Richmond, VA and Blue Print, in Dallas TX, Her artwork has been exhibited extensively nationally and internationally. Currently, Bowring’s painting, “Quiet Time with Stars” will be at the American Embassy in Sydney, Australia, through the Art In Embassy Program.
