This image captures a daytime view of the Detroit skyline from within the new Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Centennial Park. The park, opened in October 2025, is a 22-acre green space along the Detroit Riverfront.
Foreground and Park Features: The park's newly landscaped, rolling green hills and a water feature are prominent in the foreground. Paths and young trees line the area. A large body of water, part of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks Water Garden, reflects the sky and buildings, with some reddish autumn foliage in the lower-left corner.
Skyline and Landmarks: The backdrop is the dense downtown Detroit skyline under a cloudy sky. The most prominent buildings on the right are the two connected modern high-rise residential towers of the Riverfront Towers complex. In the mid-distance center, several classic skyscrapers are visible, including the distinctive pyramidal roof of the One Detroit Center building and the taller General Motors Renaissance Center complex towers further to the left, which sit along the riverfront.
Michael Thomas started out in the Photography business in 1972, working in a commercial photo lab printing black and white photographs. For the next 45 years he was involved in an ever-evolving education in the art of photography and printing techniques. In 2001, he established Micdesigns to showcase his own creative side. In 2009, he started to produce his images for sale. By using his years of experience from the photolab, as well as new techniques afforded by digital image processing, Michael has developed as style of photography all his own.
