Desert ascent

Desert Ascent

Piece description from the artist

A blisteringly cold day with the air ringing out in windy howls. The zig and zag of the lines in this image make for a pleasing, directional composition. The inimitable golden light of a New Mexico sunset. The toughest part of creating this image was the sting of physical exertion and the need to gasp at the frigid air as I sprinted up and down the incline, searching for the perfect composition. The image was created in the Ojito Wilderness of North Central New Mexico. Brutally hot in the summer months, and jarringly cold in the winter due to its wide open, exposed visage, this zone offers a bare bones, relentless expression of nature. How do humans fit in?
