Piece description from the artist
When traveling from point to point in the Dolomites, It’s hard to not constantly stop and take pictures of every peak and new landscape. I captured this particular one on my way to Passo di Giau. I couldn’t resist the scene.
The peak loomed sharp and jagged. The face streaked with rockfall that looked like, and indeed would soon be replaced by, snow. It lay, rough and pale against the soft orange of larch trees dressed in their autumn colors. A wisp of clouds clung to the rock, reminding me how high up I am. The late day sun hung low and golden, painting the mountain in warmth that wouldn’t last.

Currently located in Washington, DC, Scott is a native Floridian photographer specializing in landscape photography. His work explores the interplay of light and dark — rejecting the notion that photography is just “painting with light.” He seeks what resides in the contrast — the liminal spaces of the world.
Scott has shot in some of the most beautiful locations in the world, including Iceland and locations throughout the Old World. But some of his most inspiring locations are right at home in America's enchanting National Parks.
