While traveling along Highway 50, also known as Highway 385, near Granada, Colorado, USA, we came across this peaceful rural landscape just as the sun was slipping toward the horizon. Railroad tracks stretch across the scene, leading the eye straight into the warm glow of sunset. Tall grasses and wild weeds catch the backlight, their edges glowing gold. At the perfect moment, the sun dipped low enough to create a sun flare over the horizon, casting a warm, dramatic light across the countryside. The scene feels both fleeting and timeless, capturing the quiet beauty of rural Americana at day’s end.
