Colorados iron fens

Colorado's Iron Fens

Piece description from the artist

The Iron Fens are a rare geological formation in Colorado! The colors are beautiful and earthy! They are formed from underground water that bubbles up and pierces the surface causing ledges and terraces of limonite to form. It's very difficult to get to this area and is high in the Rocky Mountains on a crazy 4 wheel drive road, but well worth the trouble!
