Piece description from the artist
A photograph of Bayard Street, Chinatown, NYC. Bayard Street is located in the heart of Chinatown and is just four blocks long. Odors of smelly fish and freshly baked pastries waft through the air from the many markets, bakeries and restaurants located on the street level. Above them, are walk up apartment buildings, home to multi-generation families who emigrated from southern China or Hong Kong.
This is a TurningArt exclusive limited edition print available in editions of 100.
One day, Raymond started pointing and shooting and quickly got carried away with photography.
He got a sack of gear and hit the streets of his hometown, New York City. Rarely a fly on the wall, Raymond has a way that is central to his work; with a quick hello, he can turn chance encounters into spontaneous portraits. He also photographs events and weddings, wanders the streets to capture candid moments, and produces portrait sessions.
Since moving to the Southwest in 2015, Raymond has expanded his subject matter to include landscapes, storm chasing, and wildlife, with a particular interest in hummingbirds and raptors.
