This painting was inspired by the "Year of the Cheetah" exhibit at The Living Desert Zoo in Palm Desert, California. I wanted to capture the freedom and exhilaration of the cheetah in its natural landscape. With a flexible spine that enables a 22-foot stride, cheetahs have a perfect body for speed. I used a panoramic canvas and vibrant colors to convey the wild and majestic nature of this big cat.
Greg Weiss creates bold and energetic paintings. He is interested in images that convey movement, intensity, and excitement. Greg has held a life-long passion for art. His five-year exploration of figures in motion led to the publication in July 2016 of his first art book, Energy Is All Around: Paintings and Personal Reflections. Making his mark with a distinctive style, Greg uses luminous colors that bounce with rhythm, play, and precision. A member of the Katonah Museum Artists' Association, Greg regularly exhibits his art in Northern Westchester. Greg lives in Armonk, New York with his wife and two young children.
