Piece description from the artist
This photograph reveals the dramatic expanse of Upheaval Dome in Canyonlands National Park, just outside Moab, Utah. On this cloudy day, muted light and subtle purple tones washed across the sky, casting a mysterious atmosphere over the rugged desert terrain. Encircled by steep canyon walls and colorful sandstone layers, Upheaval Dome remains one of the park’s greatest geological enigmas. Geologists continue to debate whether its unusual shape was carved by the force of a meteorite impact or uplifted by a massive salt dome deep below the surface. Set within the Island in the Sky District, this striking landmark offers an unforgettable stop for hikers, photographers, and adventurers exploring Utah’s red rock country.
