Piece description from the artist

An essence of California's Wild in a spare bouquet. This particular project was inspired by the rugged Catalina Islands. This artwork portrays the unusual and exuberant wildflowers that grow on the rocky sea cliffs and unusual cactus studded meadows that today support a small herd of buffalo once used for filming Westerns.

To create it, I explored native habitats, photographed samples, used collage and designed urban and residential preplanned gardens for mass market. The aim: to spread the useful plants of the wild into the realm of the everyday. The plants are selected for their medicinal and wildlife merits, their ease of care and beauty.
