Cascading Falls At Roughlock Falls Vertical

Little Spearfish Creek flows through a lush, moss-covered landscape in the Black Hills near Roughlock Falls in South Dakota, cascading over rocky steps and flowing around patches of vibrant green vegetation. I captured this vertical view of the waterfalls along the creek, where the rushing water finds its way through the rugged terrain beneath the surrounding trees.

Using a long exposure allowed me to soften the flowing water into silky ribbons while bringing out the rich textures of the moss, rocks, and greenery. The bright white cascades stand out against the deep greens and shadowy areas beyond, inviting your eyes to follow the creek deeper into the wooded landscape.

I love discovering these beautiful details along the water, where every turn reveals another little scene worth photographing. Roughlock Falls and the surrounding creek are wonderful places to experience the natural beauty of Spearfish Canyon and the Black Hills of South Dakota.
