The spirit of Carmen Miranda, the beautiful and vivacious Cuban dancer, entertains in the cemetery festival of the Day of the Dead ( Dio De Los Muertos). She is the spirit diva delighting all the visitors who have come to pay homage to their dearly departed relatives and ancestors on this holy day of familia.
Debra Wadlington paints in a style that reflects the realism of the cultures of the American West and Southwest. Debra’s life-long passion resonates throughout her art with every stroke of color, skillfully capturing the indelible spirit of the land, the people, and traditions.
Native to New Mexico, where she attended school and began her career in art, Debra’s academic achievements include degrees in Bachelor of Science in Art, Bachelor of Art in Secondary Education Certification, and a Masters in Elementary Education. She has taught at various grade levels in primary and secondary schools, in addition to college as an adjunct Professor of Art. Debra resides in Texas, where she continues to paint her passion.
