A vertical landscape photograph showcases the towering red rock cliffs rising above the calm waters of the Fremont River in Capitol Reef National Park near Torrey and Fruita, Utah, United States. I captured this on a quiet spring afternoon as the composition draws the eye upward from the gently flowing river to the rugged sandstone walls glowing in rich shades of red and orange. Above the canyon, a deep blue sky with a few soft clouds provides a striking contrast to the warm desert colors. Fed by seasonal snowmelt from surrounding mountains, the Fremont River winds through this dramatic landscape, bringing life to the heart of Capitol Reef’s rugged terrain.
