California Saje

Piece description from the artist
I created this project by wondering the hills and native gardens of Southern California's chaparral. Collecting the most emblematic specimens, photographing them and piecing them together in delicate bouquets.
They represent idealized native gardens, beneficial to both human and wildlife. This collection showcases sacred white sage, purple sage, canyon grey sage, wild buckwheat, monkey flower and desert sunflower. An intoxicatingly pungent grouping of pollinator nurturing blossoms.
